Overview of the role

hVIVO is a dynamic and pioneering global player in the pharmaceutical early phase research sector. We conduct human challenge studies offering services to both pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies using a range of different clinical trial methodologies. The end goal of our clinical trials is to potentially eradicate common illnesses like the common cold and flu completely – or at least make treatment of them as easy and effective as possible. Our studies focus on testing new treatments on real people, in a safe, controlled, clinical environment.

 

This is an exciting time of growth for the company and we are looking to strengthen the Business Development Team with a Business Development Director, to help focused on the sales of clinical site services 

Main Responsibilities & duties

This is a fully hands-on role, with responsibility for delivering clinical site services sales targets achieved by proactively targeting prospective clients within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, building the company’s pipeline of opportunities across all functions of the company, closing new contracts in close collaboration with the Business Services and Commercial departments.

 

  • Investigate and develop strategic business relationships for specific service areas and new product development;
  • Perform active prospecting activities to grow business for clinical site services;
  • Manage and promote development of clinical trial business with assigned key accounts;
  • Proactively target new clients;
  • Manage new leads and opportunities from early stages through to contract signature;
  • Attendance at conferences and networking within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry to generate new leads and opportunities for hVIVO;
  • Hosting client visits to hVIVO’s offices;
  • Attendance at off-site client meetings;
  • Reporting and updating the BD opportunity pipeline on a regular basis, 

Skills & Experiences

We are looking for indivduals with experience within the CRO sector, who will be able to adapt quickly.

  • Act as a Senior Executive for the key clients and participate in hVIVO Business Development planning, consistency and quality of delivery of business services;
  • Participate in internal strategic planning for and identifying new areas of opportunities;
  • Analyzing market opportunities and creating strategies for new lines of businesses that will drive revenue growth and shareholder value;
  • Negotiating and closing contracts with existing clients and new accounts; and
